Restaurant Identity

This is the final result of the logo I used for the restaurant: a letterhead, a business card, and an envelope. I was going for a modern/ southeast asian fusion. We had to use drop shadows to create some differentiation and depth.

CREW

We had to edit the rips and abnormalities of this photo. This is where I first learned how to use font masking and embossing. I used pillow embossing.

Commodities to Culture

We were given a excerpt to integrate into this project. I had to pick various "commodities" to culture online and orient them pleasingly on colored boxes. I used a lot of gradients and my intention was to put emphasis on the hands holding the globe. I went for the urban look because American culture has been very urbanized.

Zoo Postcard

I think this is one of my first photoshop projects. The emphasis of the assignment was to learn how to create border by manipulating a canvas. I used the colors of the lion for the font.

Soda Label

This was for a PIASC contest. I was going for a sinful look, hence Eve and the apple. The bubbles were hard to make. The vector image is from the option our instructor had given us for "Color Predictions." I intended for the flavor and theme to tie in well, therefore if you notice...it's based on the apple Eve bit and it's apple-flavored soda. I thought it would be witty.

MRS Business Logo

This was for a business that had asked my instructor for a new design for their company. I guess their previous design looked like "Mrs.", not "MRS." I orginally had a better font for the nouns (Helvetica Neue Ultra Light), however it was hard to read with circular background. Unfortunately I had to change it to something boring. I masked the circular "metal sheet" vector.

Fashion Show Ad

This is probably one of my favorite works. The assignment was to create an ad for a Spring Fashion Show. I tried to make an airy and light-hearted look. I was really cautious with color usage because of the spring theme, therefore I made sure I didn't use rich or deep colors. I was tempted though... haha. My favorite part of this work would be the leaves and the color variation I made for the word "Color." I used a drop shadows for the flowers for a more 3D look. I used "command + J" to make the swirls. The vector image of the man was given with a list of other options by our instructor. To make the leaves look like they're moving with the wind I used the symbol scatter tool and I played around with the other symbol option to make them vary in size, shape, and direction.
