Dear Old Grandfather

This was a difficult project. We had to save our selections in order to efficiently color every part of this old picture. I used Dust and scratches with the history brush tool, the clone stamp tool, and to color it I used Hue/Saturation Mask. It was tedious, but I'm happy with the result. I tried using mostly pastel colors, nothing too saturated so the era of the image would still be intact. He was missing an eye and there was a terrible line left probably from a fold. But that was no match to my favorite tool (clone stamp). The Quick Mask brush came in handy when dealing with minute details, like the clothes and bridle.

Killer Bee Bookmark

We were given a bee vector to make these bookmarks. I think this might've been another PIASC contest, but I'm not quite sure. I manipulated the stinger to look like double "L's". I used a honey-like gradient for the background and I made a hexagonal pattern as a honey-comb.

Handsome Guy

We had to rewind time in this project. I removed his man's wrinkles with the clone stamp tool, whitened his teeth with the dodge tool, and saturated his eyes with a hue mask. He's now the "handsome guy" he used to be. To prevent an alien-like look, I put his original picture with a low opacity over the new one: it adds a natural look.

Melody of Words

We had to make designs for a t-shirt the school was making for their annual Melody of Words event. The pages of the book were hard to do. This was originally a drawing that I scanned in and traced with the pen tool on illustrator.

TIME Magazine Cover

This is by far my favorite work. I aspire to be an Industrial Designer, therefore I found making a cover like this appropriate. My intention was to show how my crazy and silly nature will allow me to make breakthroughs in our society. TIME magazine is generally red, but since it's based on the future....who knows what color they'd be next. Plus, I found it appropriate for the topic: designer, rebellious, etc.

Family Touch Up

This was the first project based on the history brush tool and dust and scratches. We had to reconstruct the nose of the man sitting down. We were not allowed to use the clone stamp tool too much.

Restaurant Logos

We were given a list of restaurants we can choose from, in order to make a logo. These are the options I set out for myself. All of these are vector images. The green elephant was the hardest to create because it originally wasn't a vector image. It however, was my favorite.
